What is my best option for a mill for a farm shop. I have a whole bunch of planter paralell arms that need to be bore out. Figured that I could just as well buy a mill instead of a drill press and a 1 3/16 reamer. I know by far I am not a Machinist but the price difference between a new drillpress and a old mill isn't too far away.

The mill has a threaded depth stop, which I have never used, this is where I want to mount the gas strut and a DRO (Digital Read Out) The first drawing is a schematic of the existing depth stop. The second drawing is a schematic of how the gas strut will need to be mounted to lift the quill and remove the backlash.
