I think they are slightly better for grinding herb than space case grinders, but apparently space case grinders are decently better for collecting kief. So it's your choice, but Mendo Mulchers are much more affordable and they're made in America.

I have owned both mendo mulcher and Santa Cruz shredder grinders and both were excellent. Both produced a nice fluffy grind the Santa Cruz was a bit of a finer grind. I preferred the machining of the mendo mulcher however the design made it hard to open sometimes.

My 'made in the US' Mendo Mulcher is good quality, but way overpriced considering the poor design. The only two grinder makes I've found with a warranty are Kelly's CNC grinders, and Mix'n'Ball (5 years).
